An incident of gang rape of a woman and her daughter-in-law has come to light in an under construction paper mill in Sri Sathya Sai district of Andhra Pradesh. The incident took place on the night of 11 October in Chilamanthur police station area.

Superintendent of Police V Ratna said that both their husbands work as watchmen in an under construction mill in Nallabomani Palli area and live in the same compound. On the night of 11 October, five bike riders were creating ruckus outside his house.

When they were stopped, they attacked them. The husbands of both the women were beaten and held hostage at knifepoint. After this, four people dragged both the women (mother-in-law and daughter-in-law) inside the house. Raped her and ran away.

Police said the family hails from Bellary district and had come to live there only five months ago.

The family lives in the mill compound itself.
