Gillibrand said these incidents show that the conditions of the soldiers stationed on the USS Lincoln were dire. The situation was getting worse with increasing time.
It is not easy to stay in the sea for a long time
American Navy Admiral Brad Cooper said in August that the number of mental stress or mental health-related cases on the USS Lincoln was lower than on other Navy aircraft carriers.
However, he also acknowledged that this did not mean that all was well on the ship. According to him, it is not easy to stay in the sea for months. This increases stress and every person deals with it differently.

Trump had said – the deployment was not very long
Last month, President Trump was asked questions about the mental condition of USS Lincoln soldiers and their long deployment. In response he said, ‘No, it has not been very long.’
Defense Minister Pete Hegseth also dismissed reports of poor conditions on the ship, saying the situation had been misrepresented.
Senator Gillibrand accused Trump and Hegseth of not taking troops’ concerns seriously.

Former top legal officer of the US Navy, Rear Admiral Donald J. Guter described the eight suicide attempts as ‘extremely worrying’. According to him, so many cases indicate serious tension among the soldiers.
