अंकिता भंडारी मर्डर केस: ऑडियो विवाद में BJP के पूर्व विधायक सुरेश राठौर गिरफ्तार

Police have arrested former BJP MLA Suresh Rathore in the alleged audio controversy related to Ankita Bhandari murder case in Uttarakhand. Dehradun Police has taken this action in a case in which there was an allegation of linking the name of a BJP leader with the Ankita Bhandari murder case through an audio clip. According to the police, a joint team of Dalanwala police station and Special Operation Group (SOG) detained Suresh Rathore from Buggawala area of Haridwar.

Actually, this whole matter escalated after the complaint of BJP state in-charge Dushyant Kumar Gautam. He had alleged that some audio-video clips related to Suresh Rathore and Urmila Sanawar were being deliberately spread on social media. He said that the motive behind this action is to tarnish the image of him and other big leaders of BJP. Apart from Dushyant Gautam, a woman named Aarti Gaur had also filed a complaint in this matter. Both of them clearly said that this fabricated content was shared only with the intention of defaming them.

Uttarakhand Was challenged in the High Court. While hearing this case, the single bench of Justice Rakesh Thapliyal of Nainital High Court had recently given partial relief to Rathore. The court quashed two of the four FIRs registered against him, but clearly refused to quash the remaining two.

The High Court had ordered to continue the police investigation on the FIR lodged by Aarti Gaur and Dushyant Gautam. Commenting in its decision, the court said that prima facie both the complaints constitute a case of serious crime. The court believed that linking any person’s name with such a heinous murder on social media and harming his image is a big crime, hence it is very important to investigate it in depth. As soon as the green signal was received from the High Court, the police intensified the action and arrested the former MLA.
