The small budget film ‘Hanuman Ansh’ based on the life of Neem Karauli Baba is creating history at the box office. Made with a budget of just Rs 2 crore, this film defeated Yash’s much-talked about Rs 500 crore budget film ‘Toxic’ in the earnings of the 7th day.
According to Sacknilk data, while ‘Hanuman Ansh’ collected Rs 8.50 crore on the 26th day of its release in India, ‘Toxic’ could collect only Rs 7.85 crore on the 7th day of its release.
The film, which had a slow start in the initial weeks, has collected a net collection of Rs 54.13 crore in India in 26 days on the basis of word-of-mouth and positive response from the audience.
Journey from opening of just Rs 10 lakh to Rs 54 crore The film ‘Hanuman Ansh’ directed by Vishal Chaturvedi was released in theaters on 7 August 2026. The film collected only Rs 10 lakh on the first day of release and could earn only Rs 1.48 crore in the first two weeks.
However, the film’s fortunes changed on the 17th day and it did a business of Rs 2.20 crore in a single day. There was such a jump in the film’s earnings from the third week that it collected Rs 10.40 crore in the third week alone. According to Saknilk data, the total gross collection of the film in India has been Rs 63.82 crore.

25th day of ‘Hanuman Ansh’ is heavy on Hindi collection of 6th day The real upset at the box office was seen when ‘Hanuman Ansh’ earned Rs 5.50 crore in the Hindi belt on the 25th day of its release, whereas on the same day, Yash starrer big budget film ‘Toxic’ could collect only Rs 4.40 crore in the Hindi belt on the sixth day (Monday) of its release.
Even though ‘Toxic’, directed by Geethu Mohandas, had a record opening of Rs 101.10 crore worldwide on the first day and a net collection of Rs 214.10 crore in the opening weekend, but after that there was a big decline in the collection of the film.

In contrast, ‘Hanuman Ansh’ started with just 300 shows, but in view of the increasing demand of the audience, its shows were continuously increased. On the 26th day, ‘Hanuman Ansh’ was running on 7,008 shows across the country and despite having half the shows as ‘Toxic’, it recorded more earnings.
Now understand how this low budget film earned Rs 50 crores.
Trade expert Taran Adarsh said on the film’s earnings – ‘If you see the collection, from the first day till now, especially in the third week and fourth weekend, it is historic. This is rarely seen.
‘The content is there, but the film got benefit from ‘word of mouth’. If there is negative publicity, the impact on the film is visible on the second-third day, but if the reviews are positive, then the film works. Same thing happened with Hanuman Ansh. This film was going to release in the second week. The collection was only Rs 40 lakh. There was no special collection even in the first week.
How did Hanuman Ansh get screens despite clashes with big films?
When the film Hanuman Ansh was released on 7 August, it got select screens. With the release of Awaravan 2 and Bantwara 1947 on August 14, the screens of the film further reduced. The film’s earnings were also not very good, so it started being removed from theatres. But the film is still in many theatres. When asked what was the reason for this, Taran Adarsh says, ‘The producers of the film requested the distributors to somehow release our film in the third week. Distributors said that Toxic is coming, the film will be released anyway. But the producers said – please run it anyhow.

The film Hanuman Ansh has been made by 42 year old Vishal Chaturvedi. This is the biggest film of his career. Before starting his career in films, Vishal was a doctor. This is his second directorial venture, before which he had directed 2012’s Warning. He has worked as a dialogue writer for TV series and films.
