Actually, Amit Shah reached Ahmedabad on a two-day visit. Today he has launched development works worth Rs 1003 crore in the city. After this, he interacted with AMC sanitation workers and school children outside the venue. After this, he interacted with people who got citizenship under CAA.

He further said- Today I want to tell about CAA, why it was implemented in the country. Actually, no country should be divided on the basis of religion. But India was divided on the basis of religion. When India was divided on the basis of religion, terrible riots took place. This was natural. Crores of people of India cannot forget how much pain the Hindus, Jains and Sikhs living in neighboring countries had to suffer. Families were destroyed. There has been no more atrocity than this anywhere in the world.
At that time the decision of partition was taken, when its results started coming, all the Congress leaders had promised that the refugees coming from the neighbouring countries will be given citizenship. India will welcome them. And it should have been done. But, as the elections came closer, the Congress leaders started going back on their decision.
The promise made in 1947, the promise made by Jawaharlal Nehru, everything was forgotten. This was done because the Congress felt that this would anger their vote bank. But after Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister, CAA was implemented to give citizenship to these people. Only after this, the refugees were able to find a right place in the country and the country can never forget this.
Development work worth Rs 1000 crore completed in Ahmedabad

We have to plant 30 lakh trees in the next 100 days. This is a very beautiful campaign. I am very closely associated with it.
