Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) protest against NEET paper leak continues at Jantar Mantar for the second day on Sunday. The protesters sat at Jantar Mantar throughout the night demanding the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
CJP founder Abhijit Deepke said that the agitation will continue till Pradhan’s resignation. On Sunday morning he was seen playing cricket with fellow protesters. He has appealed to the students to come to the protest after the exams.
Earlier on Saturday, social activist Sonam Wangchuk also participated in the protest. He said that if Dharmendra Pradhan does not resign, he will start a fast from June 27.

On Saturday, many protesters had reached Jantar Mantar carrying posters of Baba Saheb Ambedkar and Bhagat Singh.

1. Protested by banging the plate: The protesters banged plates and raised slogans of Go-Pradhan-Go against Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Deepke said that if Corona can be eliminated by beating plates, then plates should be beaten to remove the Education Minister also.
2. ‘Until there is justice, the movement will continue’: Deepke said that injustice has been done to NEET students. The movement will continue until the students get justice.
3. Demand for ₹1-1 crore compensation: Deepke has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi demanding a compensation of Rs 1 crore each to the families of NEET students who committed suicide. Also demanded the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan.
4. Appeal for support from Rahul Gandhi: Deepke said that the leaders who are concerned about the future of the students should come forward and support the students. He said that he has not had any conversation with Rahul Gandhi on this issue.
CJP’s demonstration in 8 cities in 15 days
CJP formed after CJI’s comment, called youth cockroaches
Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) started after a comment by Chief Justice Surya Kant. During the hearing of a case on May 15, he had said that some unemployed youth are like cockroaches, who later attack the system by becoming media, social media or RTI activists.
The day after this comment, on May 16, America-based Abhijit Deepke launched CJP and created party accounts on social media. On 22 May, he started an online petition demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, which claimed to have the support of over 8 lakh people.
As of June 10, CJP had 2.27 crore followers on Instagram. Now it has declined by two lakhs. Still, this number is more than BJP’s 94 lakh followers and Congress’s 1.37 crore followers. CJP has 2.79 lakh followers on Instagram.
