शरीर में 60 घाव, किडनी बाहर निकाल दी… भालू के हमले से ऐसे बचा शख्स

Imagine, you are cycling in the middle of the forest and suddenly a giant bear comes in front of you. Don’t try to scare him, turn your bicycle in front of him and throw away the bag full of food. But what will happen if the bear attacks even after this?

Something similar happened with a person in Canada. The grizzly bear attacked him so much that he got about 60 deep wounds on his body. One wound was so serious that even his kidney was visible from outside. But he did not lose courage and kept fighting till the end to save his life.

According to the report of Daily Star, a Canadian man told Daily Star about this incident that happened to him. After all, how could he barely win the battle of life after the bear attack? This incident is of 2019. Colin Dowler, 47, living in British Columbia, Canada, had set out on a forest path on a bicycle one summer day. Their objective was to see the hiking routes in the area.

He was passing through a narrow logging track near Mount Dougie Dowler. Then suddenly his eyes fell on a grizzly bear. Colin had seen Black Bear before. Therefore, they hoped that if they remained calm after seeing the bear, it would also leave from there. But this time the matter was different. The bear standing in front of them was a grizzly and it was continuously staring at Colin.

The bear came and stood a few feet away. Colin immediately got down from his bicycle. He did not want the bear to get scared or become aggressive because of him. But instead of retreating, the bear slowly moved towards them. Within no time the distance between the two remained only a few feet.

To protect himself, Colin placed the bicycle between himself and the bear. He also had a hiking pole in his hand, which he pointed towards the bear. But the bear pressed that pole in its mouth and threw it aside.

Now Colin understood that the situation had become very dangerous. He took off his bag full of food and threw it towards the bear. They thought that maybe the bear would go towards food and they would leave from there. But this attempt also did not work.

First push with claws, then attack with teeth
The bear now started pushing Colin with his paws. As a last attempt, Colin threw his bicycle towards the bear, but even this did not stop him.

After this the bear suddenly pounced on Colin and bit into a part of his body. He picked up Colin in his mouth and carried him towards a bush about 30 to 40 feet away.

It was very painful for Colin to even remember what happened after this. The bear was scratching his body badly. The attack was so terrible that Colin could even feel the bear’s teeth rubbing on his thigh bone.

At that time he felt that perhaps he would not be able to survive. He started missing his wife and children. He had even said goodbye to them in his mind.

Then I remembered the knife in my pocket.
Amidst the trouble, Colin suddenly remembered that he had kept a pocket knife with him while cycling. The bear had pinned him down, but somehow Colin managed to reach the knife with both hands.

He took out a knife and stabbed the bear on its neck. After being stabbed, the bear started bleeding and eventually released Colin. As soon as the bear retreated, Colin faced another big challenge. He was badly injured and was bleeding profusely.

This is how blood flowing from a wound was stopped
Colin feared that if the bleeding was not stopped, he might die. He did not have any medical equipment. In such a situation, he cut the sleeve of his shirt and made a temporary tourniquet on his leg with it, so that the blood flow could be reduced.

After this, he somehow picked up the bicycle and continued pedaling for about 45 minutes with the help of only one leg. Finally he reached a logger’s cabin.

When the five employees present there saw his condition, they immediately started helping him. With the help of first aid kit, he tried to handle about 60 wounds present on Colin’s body. Meanwhile, air ambulance was also called. About an hour later the air ambulance arrived and Colin was taken to hospital.

Surgery lasted 6.5 hours, stayed in hospital for 40 days
There were about 60 punctures and deep wounds on Colin’s body. One of these wounds was so serious that even his kidney was visible. Doctors performed surgery for about six and a half hours to save his life.

After this Colin had to spend about 40 days in the hospital. Despite such a terrible attack, he did not end his relationship with the forest and cycling.

Didn’t leave the forest even after the accident
After this incident, Colin started going into the forest again. They relied on techniques to deal with bears and stay safe. Later he also found some black bears on the roads, but this time he was more cautious. Colin tells that whenever he sees a black bear, he shouts loudly and the bear runs away from there.

The man who once thought that he might never see his family again, won the battle of life despite such terrible injuries. His story of suffering around 60 wounds in a grizzly bear attack, stopping the bleeding himself despite being seriously injured and cycling for 45 minutes on one leg to reach help is truly astonishing.
