Filmmaker Imtiaz Ali has given his reaction on Ranbir Kapoor playing the role of Lord Ram in director Nitish Tiwari’s film ‘Ramayana’. Imtiaz, who has worked with Ranbir in films like ‘Rockstar’ and ‘Tamasha’, praised Ranbir in an interview given to Filmbeat. He said that Ranbir is a pure actor and he can do anything on screen. According to Imtiaz, playing the character of Lord Ram will be very beneficial for Ranbir himself, because he learns a lot from every character he plays. Ranbir has the ability to play all types of roles. Imtiaz Ali was asked whether he had ever thought that Ranbir Kapoor, who did films like ‘Animal’, would play the role of Lord Ram in ‘Ramayana’? On this Imtiaz said, ‘Ranbir can do anything as an actor. He should do different types of roles. When he does a new role, he gets into it completely. I am very happy that he is playing the role of Lord Ram because he will bring authenticity and impact to the character. It would be great to see the character of Lord Ram in a human and personal manner. This role will enrich Ranbir’s life. Imtiaz further said that he is very eager to see Ranbir as Shri Ram on screen. According to him, Ranbir himself is going to benefit a lot from this role. He is an actor who absorbs within himself the qualities of the character he is playing. He will take with him many good things from the character of Lord Ram in his real life. This experience will prove to be very enriching for them. The film Ramayana will be released in two parts, being made under the direction of Nitesh Tiwari, ‘Ramayana’ is one of the biggest projects of Indian cinema. This mega budget film being produced by Namit Malhotra will be released in two parts. The first part of the film will hit the theaters on Diwali 2026, while its second part is set to be released in Diwali 2027. The music of this film is being composed by Oscar-winning composers AR Rahman and Hans Zimmer. Recently the first teaser of the film was also released.
