Karachi, Pakistan-born journalist and human rights activist Arif Ajakia recently claimed that the incidents shown in the film ‘Dhurandhar’ are completely true.

During a talk journalism event shared by ANI, Arif said, ‘I was the mayor of Karachi city and reached this post by winning the elections. I was there during the story which was shown in ‘Dhurandhar’. I was born and brought up in Lyari, so I know that everything shown in it is true.

Referring to his family background, he said, ‘I was born in Karachi, but my parents were born in Junagadh, Gujarat. I consider myself not of Pakistani but of Indian origin.

He also said that many issues related to human rights in areas of Pakistan like Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa often do not get enough space in the international media.

Arif Ajakia is a former mayor of Karachi city of Pakistan (Jamshedpur Town), human rights activist and journalist.
