The lawyer also termed the naming of Sukhi’s father in the case as wrong and raised many questions on the police’s investigation theory and the allegations of Inder’s family. The lawyer claims that for this reason the court gave the remand of the accused for only one day instead of 5 days. Inder’s body was found on May 19 from Nilo Canal in Ludhiana.
After which the car was also recovered a few kilometers away. Police have registered a murder case against Sukhi, his father and two friends in this case. In which Sukhi’s father Pritam Singh and two friends have also been arrested. Police said that Sukhi wanted to forcibly marry Inder but she refused because Sukhi was already married.
Sukhi Brar’s lawyer said important things regarding the case:-
- Bullet investigation subject, blood found in car does not indicate murder: Sukkhi Brar’s lawyer Ishwarjot said- Whether Inder Kaur was murdered or suicide, this is part of the investigation. Whether Inder was shot or not is still a matter of investigation. This will be revealed only after postmortem. Finding blood stains in the car does not decide that Inder Kaur was murdered. This accident can also happen if the vehicle has fallen into the canal.
- Police said in the court – No marks of gunshot: Advocate said- Last time at the time of taking remand, the police had said that we have found blood stains in the car. The court had asked whether any gunshot marks etc. were found, but the police refused. Even then the court asked that if nothing of the gun was found then how were sections 25 and 27 of the Arms Act imposed. The police had no answer.
- Sukhi- Inder was in a relationship, clapping cannot be done with one hand: Sukhi Brar and Inder Kaur were already in a relationship. If someone posts a photo with family on Instagram etc., then it becomes clear what his status is. Sukhwinder had a good relationship with Inder Kaur. Clapping is never done with one hand. Transactions worth lakhs of rupees were made from Sukhi’s accounts. We have evidence. We will put it before everyone soon.
- When we conducted a raid, our father was shown arrested: Advocate Ishwarjot said that Sukhi’s father is retired from the army. The police linked his name to this case and kept him in illegal custody for 12 hours. We filed a writ in the High Court and got the raid done. After this, the police disclosed his arrest the very next evening. A conspiracy was hatched to implicate Sukhwinder and his father in order to grab the money.
- Sukhi came to India, even his father doesn’t know: The advocate claimed that the father did not know that Sukhi had come to India. He was not even present where Inder’s murder is being claimed. Even Inder’s family has no proof of this. He and the police will have to prove this.
- Kidnapped or slain at gunpoint: Advocate Ishwarjot, based on the statements of Inder’s family, said that the singer’s family should clarify whether she was abducted at gunpoint or whether she had gone to Sukhi to see off. If the kidnapping is done at gunpoint then CCTV cameras will be installed there and this will be known.
Inder Kaur’s lawyer said – this is what the defense side will say Inder Kaur’s lawyer Harkamal Singh said that nothing is being said by the defense side. The accused are on remand for the last 6 days. If there is a defense lawyer then he will definitely talk about their defence. When Sukhwinder used to go to Canada, to whom did he give his two pistols? His father was the only person in his house, to whom he used to give the pistol. His father sent him by giving him a pistol.
The court has also accepted this. The father has been named in the case for possessing a pistol and being involved in planning the murder of Inder Kaur in Mohali. Police are trying to analyze CCTV footage. The pistol has already been recovered from him.
According to the FIR registered against Sukhwinder, LOC will be issued against him. If he automatically gets caught by the police, it will become clear whether he has come to India or not. The rest of the police is also scanning the CCTV to see where Sukhwinder can be seen.
Police said- it is said like this When SHO Dalveer Singh of Ludhiana’s Jamalpur police station was talked to regarding the claims of Sukhi’s lawyer, he said that the accused say just like that. He also gave the same reply to the allegation of illegally detaining Sukhwinder’s father.
