Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Monday made a big allegation and said that elections have been stolen in Assam and West Bengal. He claimed that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won these states with the help of the Election Commission.
Rahul Gandhi wrote on social media platform X, ‘Assam and Bengal are clear examples of how BJP has stolen elections with the help of EC. We agree with Mamta ji. More than 100 seats were stolen in Bengal.
He further said that this is not a new thing and such a ‘playbook’ has been seen before also. Referring to Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Maharashtra and 2024 Lok Sabha elections, he said that similar allegations have come to light earlier also.
Rahul Gandhi further wrote, ‘Election theft, institutional theft… what is the other option now?’
His reaction came after Mamata Banerjee’s statement in which she west bengal BJP’s massive victory was termed as immoral. Mamata Banerjee alleged that the mandate on more than 100 seats in the state has been looted. Coming out of the counting center of Bhawanipur assembly seat, Mamata said, ‘We will return.’
Akhilesh also made serious allegations
Former UP CM Akhilesh Yadav also shared the video of Mamata Banerjee and wrote, ‘Now will those in power take politics lower than hell? This is a dark day in the political history of the country. Today the whole country is angry and democracy is distressed. The misuse of central forces in the name of electoral system that has taken place in Bengal today in the counting of votes, the same fraud was done in most of the places in the 2022 UP assembly elections, to which the assemblies of Kannauj were the live witnesses. Then this condemnable model was repeated in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections of Farrukhabad.
