Filmmaker Karan Johar has unfollowed many close friends including Shahrukh Khan, Alia Bhatt and Kareena Kapoor from his Instagram account. After this change, the number of his followers has decreased from 1.8 crore to 1.75 crore.

Karan has shared a post on Instagram Story explaining the reason for unfollowing close friends. He has called it ‘digital detox’. Karan wrote that he is doing this to reduce his time and energy on social media.

Shahrukh has worked in the lead role under Karan’s direction in 4 films ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’, ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’, ‘Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna’ and ‘My Name is Khan’.

Close friends and stars removed from the list Karan Johar has also unfollowed those artists whom he himself launched in the film industry. These include his close friends Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and Siddharth Malhotra. Apart from this, Janhvi Kapoor, Malaika Arora and Manish Malhotra are also missing from his follow list.

Recently, Karan participated in the Met Gala event wearing an outfit designed by Manish Malhotra. Now the number of followers on Karan’s account is only 74. Priyanka Chopra is among the few artists whom he still follows.

Said- I want to reduce energy on social media Karan Johar answered the questions arising on this step only through social media. He wrote on his Instagram story, ‘This is a digital detox. I am unfollowing everyone on Instagram so that I can reduce the time and energy spent here. Along with this, he further wrote that this is not something that should be made national news. However, his fans are quite surprised by this sudden step.

Kartik Aryan and Ananya Pandey also out of the list This decision of Karan Johar has also affected the stars with whom he is currently working. Talking about the professional front, Karan Johar’s film ‘Chand Mera Dil’ has recently been released in theatres. Ananya Pandey and Lakshya Lalwani are in lead roles in this film.

After this he is coming with his new film ‘Nagzilla’ with Kartik Aryan. The surprising thing is that Karan has also unfollowed the lead actors of his current films Kartik Aryan and Ananya Pandey on Instagram.
