An extremely violent and dangerous international extortion racket run by youth of Indian origin has been exposed in Canada. Peel Regional Police has arrested 17 Punjabis associated with the ‘Four Brothers’ gang. The gang had carried out more than 24 incidents like extortion, arson and indiscriminate firing targeting businessmen in many cities of Canada and America. A total of 106 serious criminal charges have been levied against the accused. Since all of them are non-Canadian citizens, they may now face immediate deportation to India. Gang terror in residential areas The terror of the ‘Four Brothers’ gang was such that they targeted businessmen, restaurant owners and truck companies in Brampton, Mississauga, British Columbia and California in Canada. This racket was directly involved in 24 violent incidents. To spread terror, the gang fired indiscriminately from moving vehicles in residential areas and carried out arson incidents. Wires linked to Indian gangsters, one accused is wanted. According to police investigation, these 17 accused were living in Canada and America on different visa status (like student or work permit). Police have revealed that the links of this gang are directly connected to the leaders sitting in India. One of the accused is a criminal who is already wanted in a case of attempt to murder in India. Where were the arrests made? The gang members were running networks in Canada and America. Maximum 14 accused have been arrested from Ontario. At the same time, two accused from British Columbia and one accused from California have been arrested with the help of FBI. These accused mainly targeted affluent businessmen of South Asian (especially Punjabi) origin living in Canada so that they would not approach the police due to stigma and fear. The age of the arrested accused is between 21 to 30 years. After this big success, Canadian law enforcement agencies are adopting a strict stance on these accused. Police and CBSA together have started the process of canceling the visa status of all of them. As soon as the court proceedings are completed, everyone will be deported and sent back to India.
