Garhwal Mandal has appealed to the pilgrims going for Char Dham Yatra not to start the Char Dham Yatra beyond Rishikesh on 7th July. The pilgrims should rest at the place where they have reached for the journey in view of the possibility of heavy rain.
23 passengers were rescued

These pilgrims were stranded in Tawaghat for the last three-four days due to road closure. They heaved a sigh of relief on reaching Dharchula. The water level of Alaknanda river started rising
Due to heavy rains in Pauri district for the last 2 days, the water level of Alaknanda river has also started rising. The water level of the river has reached 534.70 meters. The alarming level starts at 535 meters. At the same time, the river will reach the danger mark when it reaches 536 meters. In such a situation, SSP Pauri Lokeshwar Singh has instructed the police of Srinagar city of Uttarakhand to make people living around the river areas aware.
A rock fell on the Badrinath National Highway

Due to late night rain in Chamoli, the road has been closed due to the breaking of the hill near Paika bridge between Joshimath-Govindghat on Badrinath National Highway. In such a situation, difficulties have arisen for the passengers going to and coming from Badrinath and Hemkund Sahib. Some part of the road has also been broken due to landslide. However, after some time the work of opening the road will be started. At the same time, the matter of relief is that at this time the weather in Chamoli district has given some relief and the rain has stopped.
People are cautious after seeing Alaknanda
The police team has told all the people through loudspeaker that the water level of the river is rising due to continuous rain. In such a situation, no one should move around the ghats and rivers. At the same time, the Alaknanda river is flowing 1.3 meters below the danger mark, in view of which District Magistrate Pauri Dr. Ashish Chauhan said that SDM Srinagar and Municipal Corporation officials have been instructed that all the people nearby should remain alert in view of the continuously rising level of the Alaknanda river. If the water rises rapidly, then the people nearby should be taken to safe places.
Rain alert for 9 districts
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has directed the District Magistrates of all the concerned districts to remain on high alert after the Meteorological Department’s alert for 9 districts. Along with this, the CM has also appealed to the people to remain alert and stay in safe places in view of possible disasters due to heavy rains. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has directed Secretary Disaster Management and Rehabilitation Vinod Kumar Suman and other officials associated with the Disaster Management Department to keep a constant watch on all the districts from the State Emergency Operations Center of USDMA. He said that as soon as any information regarding the disaster comes to the State Emergency Operations Center and the District Emergency Operations Center, immediate action should be taken on it.
