‘अनु मलिक के खिलाफ बोलने पर काम नहीं मिला’: अलीशा चिनॉय बोलीं- सेक्शुअल हैरेसमेंट की शिकायत के बाद इंडस्ट्री ने सपोर्ट के बजाए बॉयकॉट किया

Alisha Chinoy made her mark in the music industry overnight with the song ‘Made in India’. Now recently he spoke about the allegations of sexual harassment against composer Anu Malik in 1996. He said that after this incident, he did not get any work in the industry.

In a conversation with Zoom, Alisha Chinoy said, “I think he (Anu Malik) dismissed my point as nonsense.” Unfortunately, it was a completely men’s world at that time. Well, now the situation has changed, now it is also the world of women. At that time I was married and my ex -husband Rajesh used to handle my career. He supported my words.

Alisha also told that Rajesh had advised him to raise his voice in this matter. He said, I had earlier said that forget it and leave it like this, but Rajesh felt that I should come forward and speak, because I could do it. At the same time I got some courage and I said okay, do it. And then things happened in the same way.

Most of my songs were with Anu Malik. Yes, Bappi was also sung with Lahiri Da and some others, but after this case I stopped a lot of work. I thought leave, move on. I did not mind that the industry isolated me. I just thought it’s okay, no problem.

Alisha also said that when she spoke at the time, she did not get the support of anyone.

Recalling the #MeToo campaign, she said that in 2018, when many women made similar allegations against Anu Malik, she came to seek support from Alisha.

Initially, Alisha hesitated a bit, because when she said something in the 90s, no one supported her. But then Alisha decided that she would support her.

Alisha had asked for compensation

Alisha Chinoy’s album Made in India was released during 1995. Alisha then accused Anu of sexual harassment. An case was also registered on Anu, in return for which Alisha had demanded Rs 26.60 lakh from him as compensation. After this, Anu had filed a defamation case with 2 crore rupees on Alisha, reverse, calling all the allegations against him false.

I swear not to work together

Alisha chose the path of agreement to end the matter, but vowed not to work with Anu Malik throughout his life. However, a few years later, in 2002, both of them surprised everyone by working together for Shahid Kapoor’s film Ishq-Vishk. Alisha was last heard in the 2013 film Krish-3.
