The action of the Municipal Corporation to demolish some parts of Hotel Park Plaza located at Civil Lines in Jalandhar, Punjab has created a political uproar in the city. Veteran BJP leaders, former MP Sushil Kumar Rinku, senior leader Manoranjan Kalia and former MLA Sheetal Angural, who stopped the demolition of the illegal construction of the hotel, were produced in the sessions court on Wednesday.
The hearing of all three is going on in the court on Wednesday. Meanwhile, BJP working president Ashwani Sharma reached Jalandhar and staged a dharna on Court Road. BJP leaders including former MLA KD Bhandari blocked the road. During this time he also had an argument with the police. Due to which the police diverted the traffic.
Punjab Executive President Ashwani Sharma said that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government is scared of BJP’s Moga rally and that is why cases are being registered against the leaders. He said that BJP leaders are not afraid of these matters and will continue to oppose the government’s policies.
Let us tell you that the Municipal Corporation team had started the JCB machine at Hotel Park Plaza at around 6.30 pm as soon as the order came from the court. The balcony and two pillars in front of the hotel were demolished.
