Hamas’ political chief Ismail Haniya has been killed. Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has confirmed this. IRGC said – His house in Tehran was targeted and a blast took place, in which Hamas chief Ismail Haniya and one of his bodyguards were killed.

Haniyya joined Hamas in 1987. Ismail Haniyya became the chief political leader of Hamas since 2017. The Shura Council, the highest decision-making body in Hamas, re-elected him for four years in 2021. There was no one else to challenge him in the organization, so he was elected unopposed.

Haniya had been living outside Palestine since 2019. He is said to be hiding in Qatar. It was under the supervision of Ismail Haniya that Hamas plotted the most brutal attack on Israel in the last 75 years.
