The stock market is witnessing a decline today i.e. on 22nd July. The Sensex is trading at the level of 80,200 with a decline of more than 300 points. Nifty has also declined by more than 50 points. It is trading at the level of 24,445.
Out of the 30 Sensex stocks, 23 are seeing a decline and 7 are seeing a rise. Today, banking and metal stocks have seen a bigger decline. Earlier on Friday, July 19, the stock market had made an all-time high for the third consecutive trading day.
Mixed trading in Asian markets
- Mixed trading is being seen in Asian markets. Japan’s Nikkei index has fallen by 1.17% and China’s Shanghai Composite has fallen by 0.71%. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng has risen by 0.80%.
- There was a decline in the US market on Friday. Dow Jones closed at 40,287, up 377.49 (0.93%) points. Whereas NASDAQ closed at 17,726, down 5144.28 (0.81%) points.
- Reliance, Kotak Mahindra Bank, ICICI Bank and Larsen & Toubro are dragging the market down. Whereas, HDFC Bank, Infosys, UltraTech Cement and NTPC are dragging the market up.
Today is the second day of Sunstar IPO
Today is the second day of subscription of Sunstar Limited’s Initial Public Offer i.e. IPO. On the first day, this issue was subscribed a total of 4.23 times. The IPO was subscribed 4.19 times in the retail category, 0.05 times in qualified institutional buyers (QIB) and 9.89 times in the non-institutional investors (NII) category.
The company’s shares will be listed in the market on July 26. The price band of this issue is ₹ 90-₹ 95. Retail investors can bid for a minimum of one lot i.e. 150 shares. The market had made an all-time high on Friday
Earlier on Friday, July 19, the stock market had made an all-time high for the third consecutive trading day. During trading, the Sensex touched 81,587 and the Nifty touched 24,853. However, after this, the market saw a decline.
The Sensex closed at 80,604 with a fall of 738 points. At the same time, the Nifty also fell by 269 points and closed at 24,530. Out of the 30 Sensex stocks, 26 saw a fall and 4 saw a rise.
