Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan’s production house Red Chillies Entertainment presented its stand in the Delhi High Court on Wednesday. This case is related to the defamation petition filed by Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer Sameer Wankhede. This case was filed regarding the web series The Bads of Bollywood made under the direction of Aryan Khan.
Wankhede had alleged that false and inaccurate things have been shown against him in this series.
On Wednesday, senior advocate Neeraj Kishan Kaul, appearing for Red Chillies, said in the court that there is no direct mention of the Cordelia Cruz case in the show.
According to Hindustan Times report, Kaul said, “Can’t satire and imagination co-exist? There is no law that both cannot co-exist. I may have been inspired by some true incident or person, but what’s the problem when a disclaimer is given? This is a Bollywood party success story, there is no malice in it.”

Neeraj Kishan Kaul is a well-known senior lawyer. He served as the country’s Additional Solicitor General from 2014 to 2017.
Kaul further said, “We are not keeping in mind people who are sensitive. Hurting someone cannot be the basis of malice. Can you catch any one sentence or scene? This series is on about 20 different issues. We have not made a documentary anywhere on the Cordelia Cruz case. Yes, I am inspired by the passionate officers, but it would be wrong to say that this is the same case.”
He also said, “You can’t say that if someone is showing the shortcomings of Bollywood, he can’t show it to enthusiastic officials. I am not responsible for what others say. I have the right to show the problems of the film industry. Even if I show it to a public official, he should not be so sensitive.”
What is the whole matter?
Sameer Wankhede has sought damages of Rs 2 crore regarding the show The Bads of Bollywood. He says that the character of the police officer shown in the show harms his image. Especially because his and Aryan Khan’s case is currently going on in the Bombay High Court and NDPS Special Court.
Wankhede has filed this case against Shahrukh Khan’s company Red Chillies and Netflix. He said that if he gets compensation, he will donate the entire amount to Tata Memorial Cancer Hospital.

Actor Ashish Kumar’s role in the Aryan Khan series looks like Sameer Wankhede.
It is noteworthy that Sameer Wankhede came into limelight in 2021 when he arrested Aryan Khan in the Cordelia Cruise drugs case. This matter was discussed in the entire country. Aryan had to stay in jail for three weeks. Later he got a clean chit in this case.
