There was chaos in America’s capital Washington on Saturday evening when suddenly bullets started firing near the White House. At around 6 pm, the security agencies deployed in the 17th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue area initially thought that perhaps there was a normal dispute, but within a few seconds the matter became very serious.
According to eyewitnesses, a man carrying a bag proceeded towards the Secret Service checkpoint. Before the officers present there could understand anything, he took out a pistol from the bag and started firing. However, according to local media reports, at least three rounds were fired. The man is said to be mentally ill but the investigation is underway as to why he opened fire.
