The long and multi-level selection process going on for the appointment of the first Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the temple in Ayodhya Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirtha area has now reached its decisive stage. Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra has issued an official press note regarding the CEO selection process and said that the final round of interviews have been successfully completed on 11 and 12 August 2026 at the Ram Janmabhoomi complex.
Now the selection committee will make an overall assessment of the performance and qualifications of the final candidates. After this, the panel of three names will be handed over to Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust. Only the Trust will put the final seal on the appointment of the CEO.
The race started with 5,585 applications
Ram Mandir The selection process for the post of CEO started with 5,585 applications. Of these, 3,877 applicants provided detailed CV. Information was sought from the candidates on many aspects including their management ability, experience in handling big events and huge gatherings, personal efficiency, language knowledge, vision and future strategy.
After the first phase of screening, detailed evaluation of the applications and presentations of 1,580 candidates was carried out. Of these, about 111 candidates were selected for online interaction. In this stage, communication ability, professional experience, personality, vision, leadership ability and technical understanding were tested.
16 out of 111 candidates reached face to face interview
After online assessment, the selection committee shortlisted 16 candidates. Ayodhya Selected for face to face interview. These candidates are experienced professionals from various fields including defence, bureaucracy, corporate and industrial sectors, education and information technology. According to the press note, the age of the candidates selected for the final phase is between 50 to 70 years. All have significant achievements and leadership experience in their respective fields.
From army veterans to retired IAS-IPS.
Retired army officers, retired IAS and IPS officers along with experienced professionals from government and non-government sectors were involved in the race for Ram Mandir CEO. From this the importance of the post of CEO can be estimated. Running a religious institution of national and international importance like Ram Temple will require administrative efficiency along with leadership who understands security, devotee management, staff management, technical arrangements, religious-cultural sensitivity and future strategy.
Three member committee took interview
The search committee formed for CEO selection includes retired Justice Pramod Kohli, Lieutenant General (retd) VK Chaturvedi and nuclear scientist Dr. Suresh Howde.
The committee’s expertise lies in various areas of judiciary, defence, administration, science and institutional leadership. The committee has made a multi-dimensional evaluation of the candidates.
Now the committee will give 3 names, the trust will take the final decision
After completion of the final round of interviews, the selection committee will now evaluate the candidates’ performance, experience, leadership abilities and their suitability for the institute. After this, the panel of three names will be handed over to Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust. After this the Trust will take the final decision on the name of one of these three candidates. That means the CEO has not been selected yet, rather the interview phase of the selection process has been completed and now the last three names are awaited.

Important appointment for the administrative future of Ram temple
The appointment of the first CEO of Ram Temple is being considered an important step towards further strengthening the administrative structure of the temple. The official statement of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra said that the entire selection process has been carried out in accordance with the principles of merit-based selection, institutional excellence and transparency. Now the eyes are on those three names, which the selection committee will present before the Trust as the final panel.
