The tension in West Asia was also discussed between the two Prime Ministers. Modi asked the Israeli Prime Minister to end the war with Hamas through dialogue and diplomacy. He also stressed on the immediate release of all hostages and a ceasefire.
Prime Minister Modi said that help should be provided to the people facing humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Apart from this, strengthening of relations between India and Israel was also discussed between the two leaders.

The war between Israel and Hamas has been going on for 11 months
It has been almost 11 months since this war between Israel and Hamas. On 7 October last year, Hamas terrorists attacked Israel. About 1200 Israeli citizens were killed in this attack. The terrorists took about 250 people hostage to Gaza.
According to Israel, 111 people are still in Hamas’ custody. These include 39 dead bodies. The hostages include 15 women and 2 children under the age of 5. After the October 7 attack, Israel declared war against Hamas. So far, 329 Israeli soldiers have also died in this war.
According to the Israeli army, they have killed more than 15 thousand Hamas terrorists so far. Due to the war, about 18 lakh people have left their homes in Gaza. Thousands of people have also had to leave their homes in Israel and Southern Lebanon.

According to a report, about 5 lakh people of Gaza will face food crisis in the coming months. This figure is about a quarter of the total population of Gaza.
According to reports, Israeli attacks have so far destroyed 59% of Gaza’s buildings. In northern Gaza, this figure is more than 70%.

Talks in Qatar for ceasefire in Gaza
Talks between Israel and Hamas for ceasefire and exchange of hostages have started in Qatar from August 15. These talks will continue for two days. Apart from Israel, leaders of Qatar, America and Egypt took part in this ceasefire deal. No representative of Hamas participated in these talks.
Efforts for this deal were going on for more than two months. Under the deal, there is a plan to implement ceasefire in Gaza in three phases.
According to this plan, Hamas will release some of the hostages on October 7. Also, the Israeli army will withdraw from Gaza. Apart from this, Palestinian prisoners lodged in Israeli jails will be released.

Israel has been facing the threat of an Iranian attack since the death of Hamas chief Haniyeh in Iran on July 31 last month. Iran blamed Israel for Haniyeh’s death. After this, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei ordered to take revenge from Israel.
Due to the growing fear of Iranian attack on Israel, America has deployed submarines and warships in the Middle East. At the same time, in a joint statement issued by the leaders of 5 countries including America, Britain, Germany, Iran has been asked not to take any action against Israel.
