Digital mapping service company MapMyIndia has filed a lawsuit against Ola Electric for allegedly stealing its data and violating the license agreement to create Ola Maps, Forbes India has reported.

According to the report, Map My India’s parent company CE Info Systems has said that Ola Electric has copied the company’s data by reverse engineering the licensed products. In June 2021, Ola Electric had an agreement with CE Info Systems for the use of its data.

Accused of stealing clients’ data ​​​​
CE Info has claimed that the company has copied our client’s API (application programming interface) and SDK (software development kit) to create Ola Maps. Ola has used our clients’ data for its own benefit.

Ola has launched its own map
This month, ride aggregator Ola launched Ola Maps, built using realtime data from the Ola fleet and other open data including the open-source government data repository, OpenStreetMaps. The company said it has now completely stopped using Google Maps.
