There was chaos in the lives of three friends in ‘Madgaon Express’, here there are two friends and the chaos has directly reached the security of the country. The pairing of Hardik and Bugs looks amazing in the beginning. The chemistry between the two, Kunal’s timely humor and some funny dialogues give a good pace to the film. Seeing the first half, it seems that come on brother, Kunal is in form again. Then there is interval and the film changes its track. How is the story of the film? Hardik i.e. Kunal Khemu is trying to get his life back on track after coming out of drug addiction. His friend Bugs i.e. Sparsh Srivastava gets him a job in his software company. But Hardik’s focus is more on the new intern Kareena i.e. Vanshika Dheer than the job. The conversation between the two progresses and then an incident comes to light, due to which Hardik and Bugs enter the world of Madam H i.e. Preity Zinta. Now both of them reach a mission for which perhaps it would have been difficult to choose more wrong people than them. This is where the film is quite fun. After this, the story includes gangsters, terrorism, AI, software attacks, a big conspiracy and even a super-strength serum. Meaning, the film which started with the comedy of two friends suddenly says, brother, now we have to save the country. How is the acting in the film? Kunal Khemu has done a brilliant job in the role of Hardik. He looks cute even when he looks stupid and his body language makes us laugh at times. The problem, however, is that his style now seems a little familiar. After ‘Madgaon Express’, ‘Lootcase’ and ‘Go Goa Gone’, this time the same witty Kunal gives something new. Sparsh Srivastava is the biggest surprise. His nervousness and facial expressions in the role of Bugs sometimes make us laugh more than Kunal. Preity Zinta’s Madam H is stylish and her action scenes are among the funnier parts of the film. Vanshika Dheer looks beautiful, but she doesn’t have much to do in the role. Yashpal Sharma and Dinesh Lal Yadav are okay, while Sharmila Tagore’s small cameo is nice. How is the direction of the film? Kunal Khemu understands comedy. The problem is that he should have had a little more confidence in his film. Hardik and Bugs are enough in the first half. His little stupidities are what is running the film. But in the second half the film keeps adding things layer by layer. Want a gangster. Put it in. Need AI. Put it in. Software attack is required. Put it in. Need serum. Put that also. As a result, the story progresses less and the stuff increases more. The biggest fun of the film was where it wasn’t taking itself too seriously. I wish Kunal had continued the film on the same path till the end. How is the technical aspect of the film? The film looks good. The locations are good, the camera work is great and the money is clearly visible in the action sequences. But the pace of the film slows down in the second half. Some scenes seem longer than necessary and the story feels stretched at many places. What are the shortcomings in the film? The biggest drawback is overdose. Comedy was needed in the film, but later action was also needed, thrill was also needed, a big villain was also needed and the drama that saved the country was also needed. It wants everything and when the film starts giving everything, the best of Hardik and Bugs’ comedy gets left behind. The romance is also a bit long and by the time the climax comes, the film becomes more over-the-top than necessary and the scene in which Kunal takes off his shirt and shows his muscles. Brother, is this a comedy film or a sudden fitness advertisement? How is the music of the film? The music is fine, but not something that stands out after the film is over. Some songs sound good, but at some places they slow down the pace of the story. Final Verdict on the film: The first half of ‘Vibe’ shows that Kunal Khemu could have given another great comedy. The second half tells that he himself spoiled the matter in order to make the film bigger. The pairing of Kunal and Sparsh is the life of the film. Some dialogues and scenes are really funny. The only problem is that the film was shown less than it should have been. The vibe is set in the beginning, after the interval the film itself spoils it.
