There is a village situated below the hills of Vizianagaram district which has no official existence. The people living there do not have identity, no right to vote and do not even have basic facilities. Peddi is a young man living in this village. He works in a jaggery factory and goes to play local cricket matches for money. Village elders Appalasuri have been demanding a railway station for their village for years, but no one listens to their voice. After a traumatic incident, Peddie makes the fight his mission. His journey started from cricket and then reached wrestling and athletics. The question is not just about one railway station, but becomes about giving identity to the entire village. How Peddi carries out this fight is the main story of the film. How is the acting of the star cast? Ram Charan has given the most mature and dedicated performance of his career. His physical transformation, command of different dialects and the honesty shown in emotional scenes impresses. Especially in the second part, his acting brings tears to the eyes at many places. Shiv Rajkumar is seen in a limited but effective role. The guru-disciple relationship between him and Ram Charan emerges as a major strength of the film. Jagapathi Babu has tried to bring emotional depth to his character. However, some scenes seem overly dramatic. There is not much to do in Jhanvi Kapoor’s part. However, some visual effects do not seem to be up to the mark. How is the music of the film? AR Rahman’s music is the soul of the film. The songs become a part of the story and the background music multiplies the impact of many scenes. His work especially in the emotional and inspirational scenes elevates the film. It has many shortcomings, some questions remain unanswered, but the heart of the film is in the right place.
