Former President said- India saved the economy of Maldives

Unlike Mohammad Mujju’s brother -in -law, former President of Maldives Mohammad Nasheed has said that if India had not been there, our economy would have been ruined.

Talking to the news agency ANI, Nasheed said that the economic situation of his country had become so bad that if India had not helped in time, Maldives would have become bankrupt (default).

In 2022-23, the Maldives had gone into deep economic crisis due to tourism stalled. He had increased foreign debt and there was a huge dollar shortage. India saved Maldives from default by giving grain-fuel supply and credit line.

This has come to Nasheed’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi just before Narendra Modi’s visit to Maldives. PM Modi will be on a tour of Maldives on 25 and 26 July. During this time, he will attend the Independence Day celebrations as the chief guest. Read the full news here …
