Ashley St. Clair, mother of a child of Tesla and X (earlier Twitter) owner Elon Musk, has filed a case against the xAI company. His allegation is that xAI’s chatbot Grok allowed users to create sexually exploitative deepfake photos of him, causing him to suffer mental agony and humiliation.
Writer and political strategist 27-year-old Ashley St. Clair filed this lawsuit in the State Supreme Court of New York City on Thursday. She alleged that in the photo made with Grok, an old photo of her when she was 14 was altered in such a way that she was shown wearing a bikini.
Apart from this, in some other photos she was shown in sexual positions as an adult woman and even wearing a swastika printed bikini. Ashley St. Clair is Jewish, so she found it even more humiliating and intimidating.

xAI also filed a counter case
On Thursday itself, xAI removed the case from the New York State Court and transferred it to the Federal Court in Manhattan. Not only this, on the same day xAI also filed a countersuit against Ashley St. Clair in the Federal Court of Texas.
xAI alleges that St. Clair violated its xAI user agreement, which states that a case against the company can only be brought in federal court in Texas. In this countercase, xAI has also demanded an unspecified amount of damages.
Serious allegations against X and xAI
St. Clair says that as soon as she came to know about these deepfake photos, she complained to X last year itself and demanded that the photos be removed. But in its initial response the platform said that these photos do not violate its policy.
Later, X assured that his photo would not be used or edited without his consent. Despite this, St. Clair claims that there was retaliation against him. He alleged-

- Monetization was stopped from his account even though he has around 10 lakh followers.
- On the other hand, his humiliating fake photo was allowed to remain on the platform.
Who is Ashley St. Clair?
Ashley St. Clair is mother to Elon Musk’s 16-month-old son Romulus. She lives in New York City. In his case, he has sought an unspecified amount of damages for emotional distress and other legal claims and a court order to immediately stop xAI from creating any more deepfakes of him.
