In Kayamkukkam, Kerala, a 70-year-old woman was raped by a 29-year-old man. The woman lives alone at home. The accused first raped the elderly woman. Then he threw chilli powder in her eyes and took away the jewellery kept in the house. He also stole the woman’s phone so that she could not call anyone. Later, when the accused went to a goldsmith’s shop to sell the jewellery, he was caught.
