In Covid also there is cough, cold, fever or sore throat. Talking about the difference in symptoms between the two, now it becomes difficult to tell whether it is Covid or flu on the basis of symptoms alone.
If a person wants to find out whether he has Covid or not, then it is better to get RT-PCR or rapid antigen test done. However, this is not necessary for everyone, because even if there is Covid, there will be only mild symptoms and it will be cured in a few days. It is necessary to do this when a person has persistent symptoms including cough and sore throat, if he has trouble breathing, then consult a doctor.
According to Dr. Subhash, if Covid has recently been confirmed in someone’s house or nearby and you are also feeling sick, then you can get tested for Covid. Especially if you already have any serious disease or are elderly, then get tested.
When to immediately contact a doctor?
Dr. Deepak Kumar Suman, in the Department of Medicine, Safdarjung Hospital, Delhi, says that if the problem is only cough, cold, fever and sore throat, then it gets cured on its own in three to five days. In such cases, you can take medicines after consulting a doctor, but if these symptoms are accompanied by difficulty in breathing, low oxygen level, persistent high fever, then it is necessary to go to the hospital.
