Basically these are planted. They are planted by those who design PR. Meaning, these people are deliberately sent there to promote companies or celebrities.

When someone leaves the airport or gym, they immediately click a photo. Like when a heroine is leaving the gym, then memes are made by taking her videos and photos. This is a very wrong and insulting thing, which completely violates dignity.

There is a big difference between media and paparazzi. Media are those people who are educated and do journalism. They don’t do such ridiculous things. Whereas paparazzi do such dirty things, due to which the stars need bouncers to escape.

I went to the funeral of Satish Shah. There people were talking about shooting in front of the pyre. Farah Khan and I were talking, when someone came and started recording. It is not right to forcibly make someone’s video.

Many times even stars hire such paparazzi. He also goes to someone’s funeral and puts shots of them walking. Those who have gone to console, they convert them into doing PR.

These paparazzi are very dangerous. It is very important to control them. It is very important to stop the activities of these people.

Paparazzi is media, but the method can be wrong

Not all paparazzi are irresponsible

Being in a responsible position like Jaya Bachchan, she should talk to the paparazzi considering them as human beings and not hate them. Paparazzi culture in India emerged in the early 2000s, when digital media and websites such as Santabanta, Glamsham increased the demand for photographs of Bollywood stars. Yogen Shah is considered to be India’s first paparazzi, who laid its foundation by photographing stars outside Subhash Ghai’s daughter Meghna’s wedding in 2002.

Photographers like Manav Mangalani, Viral Bhayani and Varinder Chawla pioneered this culture in Mumbai, who follow stars at airports, gyms and events. The birth of Taimur Ali Khan in 2016 took it to its peak, due to which pictures of star kids started going viral. Now it has become a medium for brand promotion by connecting with social media.

Paparazzi culture has led to violations of privacy, as demonstrated by the global debate following the death of Princess Diana in 1997. In Bollywood, stars like Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor objected to the pictures of children, but there are no strict laws in India yet. This helps in creating celebrity image, but also increases mental pressure.

Ranbir’s bodyguard stopped the paparazzi

Recently Ranbir Kapoor was spotted outside the office of filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The actor had come to meet Bhansali in connection with the shooting of his upcoming film ‘Love and War’.

As soon as Ranbir reached there, the paparazzi already present started calling him to click. Meanwhile, Ranbir’s bodyguard and security personnel were seen asking him to move aside. Seeing the attitude of the bodyguard, the paparazzi present there got very irritated. He claimed that he was called to take the actor’s photo.

One of them said that they had the message as proof. In the viral video, a paparazzi can be heard saying – ‘Hey brother, you have called… what are you doing. Hey, we all have the message. What are you doing like this?

However, after a few minutes Ranbir comes out of his car and poses for the paparazzi before going inside.

Sunny Deol snatched paparazzi’s camera

After Dharmendra’s death (24 November 2025), Sunny Deol got angry at the paparazzi. When recording private moments outside the house at the time of hospital discharge, he asked “Aren’t you ashamed?” Said. Nikitin Dheer described paparazzi as vultures

Alia Bhatt shooed away the paparazzi by saying “get out” when they entered her building in August 2025. Apart from this, Sidharth Malhotra got angry at the paparazzi for taking photos of pregnant Kiara Advani in April 2025.

Karan Johar, Madhur Bhandarkar, Ameesha Patel had also publicly expressed their displeasure over the rude behavior of the paparazzi.
