PM Modi will participate in the third India-Nordic Summit to be held in Norway’s capital Oslo today. During this time he will discuss many important issues with the leaders of Nordic countries. This summit is very important for increasing cooperation between India and Northern European countries.
At the summit, PM Modi will meet the Prime Ministers of Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Iceland. Issues like trade, investment, new technology, climate change and global security are likely to be discussed in these meetings.
In this tour, there will be special focus on green energy, blue economy, green shipping and climate technology. India and Nordic countries are preparing to increase cooperation in projects related to clean energy and environment.
Space sector will also be an important part of this tour. There will be discussion on furthering cooperation between India’s space agency ISRO and Norway’s Space Agency. There are also plans to strengthen partnership in the field of Arctic research and satellite technology.

Yesterday in Oslo, the capital of Norway, Modi said that the world’s major problems cannot be solved through war, but through dialogue and peace.
In a press conference with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gar Storey, PM Modi said that both India and Norway believe in dialogue and diplomacy. Be it Ukraine war or West Asia crisis, India will always support peace efforts.
PM Modi said that reforms in international organizations are necessary to deal with the increasing challenges in the world. He also stressed the need to completely eliminate terrorism.
Norway also honored PM Modi with its highest honour, the ‘Grand Cross of the Royal Norwegian Order of Merit’.

PM Modi participated in the India-Norway Business and Research Summit in Norway’s capital Oslo on Monday. During this, he met the heads of big Norwegian companies and research institutes.
Many areas like energy, green hydrogen, shipping, health technology, robotics, education and research were discussed in the summit. The total market value of the big companies involved was around $200 billion.
PM Modi said that India is becoming a big and reliable market for investment and innovation. He also highlighted investment opportunities in India.

Discussion was held on doubling trade by 2030
In the meeting, both the countries decided to upgrade their relations to ‘Green Strategic Partnership’. Under this, cooperation will be increased in areas like green energy, clean technology, marine economy, green shipping and climate change.
Both the countries have set a target of doubling mutual trade by 2030. Besides, the target of investment of 100 billion dollars in India and creation of 10 lakh jobs was also discussed.
PM Modi and Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gaar Storey agreed to increase cooperation in space, artificial intelligence, cyber security, fisheries, maritime security and digital technology.
