Pakistani security forces killed 30 terrorists in three separate encounters in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. According to ARY News, the army conducted a secret operation against terrorists in different locations of Khyber on Friday and Saturday.
The first encounter took place in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where Pakistani troops killed 18 terrorists, while 6 were injured. At the same time, 8 terrorists were killed in an operation in Karak district. The third encounter took place in Bagh area of Khyber district. Here the army killed four terrorists, while two were injured.
Several arms and ammunition were also recovered from the killed terrorists. Earlier on January 12, Pakistan’s security forces had killed 9 terrorists in two separate encounters in North Waziristan districts.
Khyber province is the stronghold of Pakistani Taliban
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province is considered to be the most troubled region of Pakistan. Here Pakistani Taliban terrorists continuously target the Pakistani Army. With this there has been tension between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
Because of this, many terrorist groups use it as a shelter. Actually, Pakistan and Afghanistan are separated by a border. This is called Durand Line. Pakistan considers it as the boundary line, but Taliban clearly says that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa state of Pakistan is its part.
When Pakistan had fenced the Durand Line, the Taliban had uprooted it.
More than 80 people were killed in the clash two months ago
There have been several violent clashes between Shia and Sunni communities in this area. Just a few months ago, more than 82 people were killed in Shia and Sunni violence in Kurram district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while about 156 people were injured. There has been a land dispute between the tribes living here for a long time.
