Dar told in the last press conference of the year that India had targeted the Noorkhan airbase built in Chakala area of Rawalpindi. According to Dar, the Pakistani Army shot down 79 of these drones, but one drone reached the airbase.

India also targeted several more military bases of Pakistan under Operation Sindoor, damaging a total of 11 airbases.

India carried out this attack in response to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir on April 22, in which 26 tourists were killed.

Dar had earlier also accepted the attack on Noorkhan airbase.

Earlier in June, Ishaq Dar had also admitted that India had attacked his two major airbases, Noor Khan and Shorkot airbase. Dar had revealed on Geo News that Pakistan was preparing to retaliate on the night of 6-7 May, when India again struck and targeted the Noorkhan-Shorkot airbase.

Earlier, Pakistan government and army had denied the Indian attack. However, after some time Pakistani PM Shahbaz Sharif and now Deputy PM Ishaq Dar confirmed the attacks.

India was the first to inform about the attack on Noor Khan

India has already said that during Operation Sindoor, Noor Khan airbase was among the important targets where action was taken. India says that this retaliatory attack was carried out after drone and missile attacks by Pakistan on the border areas of India.

India also said that it attacked the bases of the terrorist organization The Resistance Front (TRF) based in Pakistan, which had claimed responsibility for the Pahalgam attack. According to India, the purpose of this action was to eliminate the bases providing shelter to terrorism.

It was also said from the Indian side that apart from Noor Khan, military bases like Rafiqui, Murid, Rahim Yar Khan, Sukkur and Chunian were attacked. Along with this, the airbases of Skardu, Bholari, Jacobabad and Sargodha also suffered heavy damage.

Beginning with attacks on terrorist hideouts

India started the attack on Pakistan from the night of 6 and 7 May. India had attacked terrorist hideouts in Pakistan. These targets also included areas like Bahawalpur and Muridke of Punjab state of Pakistan.

In response to this, on the evening of 8 May, Pakistan tried to attack India’s air defense system. He used Turkish and Chinese drones, but was not successful.

India’s air defense was completely active and every weapon, from small arms to large air defense systems, was ready. These weapons caused considerable damage to Pakistan’s drones.

The Indian Army also badly engaged the Pakistan Army on the other side of the border using heavy guns and rocket launchers and caused huge losses to it.
