Pakistan has refused to befriend Israel and recognize it as a country. Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Asif said that Pakistan cannot compromise on its fundamental ideologies. Asif said how can we sit with those people whose words cannot be trusted even for a day. Pakistan is perhaps the only country in the world on whose passport it is written that it is not valid for Israel. With this, Pakistan’s stand is completely clear and there will be no change in it. In fact, US President Donald Trump had appealed to Muslim countries to improve relations with Israel and join the Abraham Accords. Pakistan was also told that if it wanted to be a part of the US-Iran peace process, it would have to recognize Israel. Pakistan has already spoken about pressure on Israel. Donald Trump on Monday had appealed to many Muslim and Arab countries to normalize relations with Israel. This statement of Trump has come at a time when America is trying to create new strategic partnerships in the Middle East. Trump has already described the Abraham Accords as his biggest diplomatic achievement. However, this is not the first time that Pakistan has been under pressure to recognize Israel. In 2021, the then Prime Minister Imran Khan had also said that America and some other countries were pressurizing Pakistan to normalize relations with Israel. It is difficult for Pakistan to join the Abraham Agreement. The issue of joining the Abraham Agreement is very sensitive and politically difficult for Pakistan. Pakistan has long been presenting itself as a supporter of Palestine. The issue of Palestine is deeply connected to the general public there, both on an emotional and religious level. Experts believe that Pakistan would not like to spoil its relations with America but it cannot ignore its domestic politics either. Pakistan has never recognized Israel in the last 78 years. Its official stance has been that it will not recognize Israel until an independent Palestinian state is created based on pre-1967 borders. For this reason, the issue of normalizing relations with Israel in Pakistan has always been related to domestic politics. It is considered a political risk for any government to adopt a soft stance on this. Pakistan had also given clarification on participating in the Gaza Board of Peace. In January this year, Pakistan had participated in the Gaza Board of Peace. Even at that time, a discussion had started within Pakistan whether it was gradually moving towards the Abraham Accords. After this, Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry had issued a statement saying that Gaza joining the Board of Peace has no connection with the Abraham Accords. The Foreign Ministry had said that there has been no change in Pakistan’s policy and it will not be a part of this agreement. Pakistan’s problems are also increasing because many Gulf countries are now increasing relations with Israel under pressure from America. These include many important countries including Saudi Arabia. Pakistan’s economy, which is facing economic crisis, is largely dependent on the help of Gulf countries. He also gets financial assistance and military support from there. In such a situation, directly rejecting Trump’s demand is being considered a risky step for Pakistan. Trump wants to create a pro-American coalition. According to Axios, Trump’s biggest strategic effort is to create a new pro-American coalition in West Asia after the end of the Iran war, in which Israel and major Arab countries will be together. For decades, the policy of Arab countries was that Israel would not be recognized unless the Palestine issue was resolved. Following Trump’s efforts, the Abraham Accords in 2020 broke that old policy. Under this, countries like UAE, Bahrain and Morocco established official relations with Israel. —————————– Also read this news… Trump told Muslim countries to be friends with Israel: Pakistan’s problems will increase, it does not even consider Israel as a country.
