A multistorey building collapsed in Mohali, Punjab on Saturday evening. According to NDRF officials, 5 people were buried under the debris. There are 3 boys and 2 girls among them. A girl has been thrown out.

No formal information has been received about the condition of the injured girl. Army teams along with NDRF are conducting rescue operations on the spot. Debris is being removed from the incident site with the help of JCB machines. Dog squad team also arrived. According to the gym trainer who survived the accident, there were gyms on 3 floors of the building, and people lived on rent in the remaining 2.
A woman reached the spot to find her husband. Her husband had come here to do gym. His phone has been switched off since the accident.

People said- it was a 10 year old building The incident occurred near Gurudwara Sohana Sahib at around 4:30 pm. According to people, this building was about 10 years old. Excavation of the basement was going on next to it, due to which the foundation of the building became weak and it collapsed.
Army was also called for rescue after the building collapse incident in Mohali. Army soldiers started the work of removing the debris.
CM said- will take action against the culprits Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann said that the entire administration and other rescue teams are deployed at the spot. I am in constant touch with the administration. We pray that there is no loss of life or property. Will also take action against the culprits. After the building collapsed, debris spread all around. Rescue operation was started by calling JCB machines.

Mohali’s SDM Damandeep Kaur said that the local people were telling that about 15 people were buried. As soon as the information was received, rescue teams reached the spot.

AAP MP said- Youth were exercising in the gym Meanwhile, Aadmi Party (AAP) MP from Anandpur Sahib Malvinder Kang said that it was found that there was a gym here, where youth used to come to exercise. It is not yet clear whether anyone was in it at that time or not. Currently teams are engaged in rescue.
Woman came to find her husband After the accident, a woman reached the spot to find her husband. The name of the woman’s husband is Abhishek, who had come to the gym. The manager of a private company who reached the spot said that a woman works in our office. Her husband used to come to the gym in this building. He used to come to office every day to pick up his wife. When he did not come to pick her up on Saturday, the woman took a cab and reached here (where the building collapsed). Here it came to light that the building had collapsed.
