According to the information, on April 13, 2026, several posts were shared on social media platform X from accounts named @Proudindiannavi and @Mir_llyas_INC. The purpose of these posts was said to be to spread unrest among the people and spoil the law and order. Due to these misleading information, fear and anger spread among the people in many areas of Gautam Buddha Nagar.
After these posts, the situation worsened and the angry mob came out on the streets. The mob pelted stones at many places and attacked the people present on the spot. During the violence, vehicles were damaged and incidents of vandalism and arson of private and public property were reported. A case has been registered in the police station Sector-20, Gautam Buddha Nagar regarding the matter. Police have registered a case in this matter. Action is being taken against the accused under Section 353(1) and 353(2) of BNS for obstructing government work and under Section 66 of the IT Act for misuse of social media.

Technical analysis revealed that both the X handles were being operated from Pakistan. This indicated that external elements may have played a role in instigating the violence.
Police investigation also revealed that the people operating these handles were trying to hide their identity by using VPN. Despite this, their location was ascertained through technical investigation. It is being told that this is not the first time that such activities have come to light through these handles. Even before this, these accounts had tried to incite violence.
