120 Bahadur is a historical war film that pays tribute to the extraordinary courage, leadership and sacrifice of 120 soldiers of Charlie Company of 13 Kumaon Regiment who fought valiantly in the Battle of Rezang La during the India-China War of 1962. The film highlights the inspirational leadership of Major Shaitan Singh Bhati, whose amazing valor and supreme sacrifice has set an indelible symbol of courage in the military history of India. As a special tribute to these brave soldiers, the Delhi government has decided to make this film tax-free in Delhi from 28th November. Hearty congratulations to the makers of the film.

After this announcement by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, the film’s lead actor and producer Farhan Akhtar has expressed his gratitude. Farhan wrote,

What is the story of the movie 120 Bahadur?

The film 120 Bahadur is the story of Rezang La of the 1962 India-China war, which was led by Major Shaitan Singh Bhati. Major Shaitan Bhati was awarded the Param Vir Chakra for his bravery.

The battle took place on 18 November 1962 at the Rejang La Pass in eastern Ladakh, which is at an altitude of about 16,000 feet. Charlie Company of India’s 13 Kumaon Regiment had participated in it.

Indian soldiers fought against the large and overwhelming Chinese army despite extreme cold, lack of oxygen and extremely difficult conditions. The soldiers held the front till their last breath, many soldiers were found martyred on their front with guns in their hands.
