Former Thailand’s former PM Thacasin Shinavatra has left the country and moved to Dubai from his private jet. He gave this information on social media platform x. The Thailand court is going to pronounce the verdict on 9 September in a case related to Thacasin’s corruption.

Thacasin wrote on X that he was going to Singapore for treatment, but the pilot said that the jet could not be landed there, so he had to go to Dubai. However, Thacasin wrote that he would return to the court’s decision on 9 September.

Experts believe Thacsin will not return. After being removed from the post in 2006, when he was sentenced to 15 years on charges of corruption, he also fled abroad.

Why are you running away?

When Returned to Thailade in Thaksin 2023, the court again sentenced him to 8 years in the old corruption case. This sentence was reduced by the king of Thailand to one year.

Thacasin is accused of spending this one year not in jail but in a room of Police General Hospital. The Supreme Court is investigating this and is going to pronounce the verdict on 9 September.

Thaksin Shinavatra founded the Fu Thai party in Thailand. This party maintained its influence in power for two decades. The Xinavatra family remained in rule from 2001 to 2006, from 2011 to 2014 and 2024 to 2025.

Thaksin’s daughter Pitgtarn Shinavatra has also been the PM of Thailand. In July 2025, the phone conversation with former Cambodia leader Hunsen was leaked in July 2025. At the time when this call was made, there was a struggle between Thailand and neighboring Cambodia over ancient Shiva temples.

The Pitgtarnarn called the leader of Cambodia as ‘Uncle’. In such a situation, the opposition party made it an issue. The PM was accused of bending in front of Cambodia and weakening the army. After this, the Paitagtarn was removed from the post in July 2025.

Subsequently, the constitutional court of Thailand dismissed the Pittagtarn from the post on 1 July, citing violation of morality in the case.
