Shraddha Paksha is now going to pass. It will end with Mahalaya and then Navratri will arrive. The entire 15 days of Shraddha Paksha are the days of remembering the ancestors. Shraddha Kalp Vidhan also tells that the present looking at the future should also hold the fingers of the past. It is very important that it also gives useful experience for life. In such a situation, the action of tarpan becomes very important for the fathers.
Why are sesame and kusha holy?
Use of sesame and kusha is most important in offering. It is said that both these things take the souls of the ancestors directly towards salvation. The question is how both these things help in attaining salvation. The answer is that in Buxar district of Bihar. Buxar is one of the ancient towns that originated with the creation of the universe. The ancient name of Buxar is Vyaghrasar. Apart from this, in different ages it has also been called Vedagarbha and Bamanashram.
A history of this Buxar is also associated with the Varaha avatar of Lord Vishnu. When Hiranyaksha had hidden the earth in the ocean, Lord Vishnu incarnated Varah on the prayer of Brahma. It was an animal form of a wild shuker (suron) with thick skins and thick weeping. Lord Vishnu descended on earth. After this, he chose the path of a head i.e. pond to go to Hades.
Ancient recognition of Buxar
It is believed that there was a path of Hades from an ancient pond in Buxar region. However, this is not completely clear. There is legend that Varah avatar entered Hades from here. He killed Hiranyaksha and came out on his horn and came out. During this time some thick romas of his body fell on the earth. It is believed that Kusha originated from them later. However, the same story is also told for Barabanki and Sitapur districts of Uttar Pradesh.
Kusha is considered the holiest grass. It is thick, sharp and rough. If the fathers are given water from its water, then they get satisfied and attain salvation.
How did a mole originate?
Similarly, the origin of mole is also mentioned in mythology. It is said that when Hiranya Kashyap was constantly torturing his son Prahlada, Lord Vishnu was filled with anger. In anger, his whole body was filled with sweat. When this sweat fell on the ground, the mole originated. Sesame is considered sacred as Ganga water. It is believed that just as the touch of the Ganges water transmits the dead souls to the door of Vaikuntha, in the same way the mole also shows the path of salvation to the ancestors, wandering souls and unquenchable creatures. That is why sesame and Kusha become necessary during Shraddha Karma.
