‘झाड़ू’ से ‘कमल’ तक… राजनीतिक दांव या अस्तित्व की जंग? AAP सांसदों के BJP में जाने से पंजाब की सियासत में भूकंप

Born out of the anti-corruption movement and public trust, the Aam Aadmi Party is now going through its most dramatic internal rebellion. On Friday, seven Rajya Sabha MPs of AAP left the party and joined Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Raghav Chadha, Sandeep Pathak and Ashok Mittal announced this major political upset during a press conference at the BJP headquarters.

Chadha claimed that 7 out of 10 Rajya Sabha MPs are with him, which includes the names of Harbhajan Singh, Swati Maliwal, Rajinder Gupta and Vikram Sahni. To avoid the anti-defection law, these MPs have crossed the 2/3 majority mark and sent a formal letter to the Chairman of the Rajya Sabha to merge their parliamentary identity with the BJP, due to which the strength of the NDA in the Rajya Sabha has increased from 141 to 148. At the same time, this step of 7 MPs including Raghav Chadha leaving the party has been taken keeping in mind the Punjab Assembly elections.

In fact, for the last few months, there were indications that BJP was planning to facilitate the defection of some big political leaders in Punjab and the party was waiting for the right opportunity to execute this move. And there was a different kind of fuss by BJP regarding today’s press conference, the place for the talks had been fixed. The microphones were ready. Just then Raghav Chadha, Sandeep Pathak and Ashok Mittal came out smiling.

‘We did not come to make a career, we came to change the system’

In the press conference held at BJP headquarters Raghav Chaddha And Sandeep Pathak’s attitude appeared quite strict. Raghav Chadha said emotionally that he had not come into politics to make a career, but had come to change the system. He alleged that the system he wanted to reform was beginning to dominate his values.

Similarly, Sandeep Pathak said that this decision was not easy, but when the space for honest politics starts decreasing in one’s own home, then it becomes necessary to find a new platform, where your voice matters.

‘4 more MPs with us’

For the media present at the spot, all three people were throwing dice, but then Raghav Chadha made a sensational revelation and said that out of 10 MPs of that party in the Rajya Sabha, 7 are standing with other MPs, which include the names of Harbhajan Singh, Swati Maliwal, Rajinder Gupta and Vikram Sahni.

He told that apart from the three people sitting on the stage, these four people have also changed sides. This means that Aam Aadmi Party A total of two-thirds of the MPs have changed parties. Emphasis has been given on two-thirds because it violates the anti-defection law.

math of 2/3

According to political experts, the joining together of 7 out of 10 MPs will technically be considered a ‘merger’, which will not pose a threat to their membership. Rajya Sabha Secretariat will now issue a formal notification in this regard after the consent of BJP National President Nitin Naveen. As soon as the notification is published in the Gazette of India, all these seven MPs will be officially considered members of the BJP. At present Raghav Chadha, Sandeep Pathak and Ashok Mittal Has met the party president, while the remaining four MPs will meet the senior leadership in the next few days.

Balance of power changed in the House

On the other hand, with the addition of these seven MPs, NDA’s position in the Upper House has become much stronger. NDA is now just 18 MPs away from securing two-thirds majority in Rajya Sabha.

BJP sources say that this strategy is not only to strengthen the government at the Center but also Punjab It has been prepared with the aim of cleaning up the Aam Aadmi Party. This action in Delhi, just 24 hours after the first phase of West Bengal elections, has created panic in the opposition camp.

BJP’s eye on Punjab

Sources say that BJP’s eyes are now completely on Punjab. The irony is that the same strategists who had formed the AAP government in Punjab in 2022 are now heading the BJP.

According to sources, Raghav Chadha and Sandeep Pathak were in touch with BJP for the last several months. BJP is now planning to include many other prominent leaders, social workers and individuals from religious organizations into the party to woo different voter sections of Punjab.

Nitin Naviv’s first masterstroke

This is the first major political merger during the tenure of BJP’s new national president Nitin Naveen. When he reached BJP headquarters with confidence wearing a blue jacket at 5 pm, the smile of victory was clearly visible on his face. Returning to power in Delhi after 27 years and now bringing together the MPs from Punjab is being considered a part of his aggressive strategy. The new members were welcomed with open arms in photographs and videos, reiterating the bitter truth of Indian politics that no loyalty is permanent.
