The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Assam CID (SIT) has arrested Shyamakanu Mahant and manager Siddharth Sarma in the Assam CID’s Special Investigation Team (SIT) in the death case of singer Zubeen Garg. The team has arrested both from different states.
SIT team arrested Shyamakunu Mahant on arrival at Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi from Singapore at around 12.30 pm on Wednesday night. At the same time, Siddharth Sarma was caught from Rajasthan, after which he was kept in Gurugram for the night. Both have been brought to Guwahati.

The Assam Police on Sunday launched a separate investigation against the event manager Mahant. The official document received by the news agency PTI has revealed that the event manager is accused of allegedly involved in organizated financial crime and making property through money laundering in the death of singer Zubeen Garg.
The CID had seized documents and equal bundles from Shyamakunu’s house during the raid on Thursday and Friday. The seized materials included several PAN cards released in the name of the same firm, about 30 stamp seals related to several companies and government offices, as well as papers related to several alleged benami properties.
CID is currently investigating Garg’s death, as more than 60 FIRs have been lodged across the state. Mahant is the main organizer of the Northeast India Festival in Singapore, where the singers went to perform. Apart from this, an FIR has also been registered against about 10 other people, including Sarma, the manager of Assamese cultural symbol. Shyamakunu is the younger brother of former DGP Bhaskar Jyoti Mahant, who is currently the Chief Information Commissioner of Assam State Information Commission. He has another elder brother Nani Gopal Mahant, who was the education advisor of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma before becoming Vice Chancellor of Guwahati University.

The same, Zubeen’s wife Garima Saukia claimed that her husband Zubeen Garg died due to negligence. He suspects all the people present there and want to know what happened in the last moments with Zubeen.
Talking to NDTV, Garima said- ‘Those who were also present at the scene are all under suspicion. We have lodged an FIR. We doubt the organizer, manager, team people. We have full faith in our legal system. I think this investigation will be done correctly. We have requested immediate investigation. We want to know what actually happened that day. ‘
Garima told that Zubeen was not ready to attend the North India Film Festival in Singapore from the beginning due to his second project. But he agreed to leave when the organizer and friend Shyamakunu Mahata repeatedly speaks.

Garima has filed an online complaint in the Assam Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
Zubeen sang more than 38 thousand songs
Zubeen was born on 18 November 1972 in Tinsukia district of Assam. He was a singer, musician, lyricist, actor and director in Assamese and Hindi film industry.
