Chandranath Rath, personal assistant (PA) of BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari, was brutally murdered on the night of Wednesday, May 6, in Madhyagram in North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal. Just two hours before this murder, deceased Chandranath Rath was with Surat BJP worker Dr. Prakash Chandra.
Prakash Chandra told that I was given the responsibility of in-charge of Bhawanipur assembly constituency. Therefore, he remained in constant touch with Chandranath to talk to Suvenduji. We also remained together in many rallies and meetings. We had tea together after a conference on Wednesday evening.
After this he left at night saying that he was going home for dinner. Meanwhile, the attackers stopped the car and shot him. According to Dr. Prakash Chandra, this is not an accidental incident but a big conspiracy. The attackers might have already done recce and followed them.
Dr. Prakash Chandra, resident of Surat, Gujarat, has been in West Bengal for 110 days.

In the elections, Chandranath was handling the work of important seats like Nandigram and Bhawanipur. Dr. Prakash Chandra tells that whenever Suvendu was on a trip, Chandranath used to make all his arrangements.

Chandranath was not in any controversy: Dr. Prakash Chandra The most shocking thing is that Chandranath Rath never came on the stage nor did he give speeches in public meetings. He handled the office work and managed it under the shadow of Suvendu Adhikari. Like the leaders, he neither came out in public nor got embroiled in controversies.
Why such a simple and disciplined person was targeted is a big question. According to Dr. Prakash Chandra, there could be political jealousy and a conspiracy to weaken the power of Suvendu Adhikari behind his murder.
Concerns increased regarding the safety of Surat workers After this incident, there is an atmosphere of fear among other workers of Surat who had gone for election campaign in West Bengal. Dr. Prakash Chandra was very close to Chandranath Rath and was with him till a few hours before the murder, hence a serious discussion has started regarding his safety.
At present, Dr. Prakash Chandra is in Bengal and he has said that he will continue his work without losing courage, but leaving Chandranath ji is a deep shock for him. ————–
