Former Jharkhand CM Champai Soren has left for Delhi with the MLAs. There is news that 22 JMM MLAs are also with him, who may join BJP. However, this is not confirmed yet. He will reach Delhi by 12 o’clock.
.
Champai may meet BJP leaders around 3 pm on Sunday. There has been speculation about Champai Soren joining BJP since Saturday. Apart from Champai, there are reports of Lobin Hembram expelled from JMM and Baharagora MLA Samir Mohanty also joining BJP.
By breaking the big leaders of JMM, BJP is trying to give the message that there is no respect for tribal leaders in JMM. Hemant Soren only promotes his family.
Amidst all this, on Saturday Champai Soren said on the discussions of joining BJP, “We do not know whether there are rumours or not. If we do not know the news, how will we assess the truth and lies. We do not know anything, we are where we are.”
First of all know what is the strength of these three and why are they angry with JMM…
Champai Soren: Kolhan is called Tiger, it has impact on 14 seats
Champai Soren is counted as a senior leader of JMM. He is known as Kolhan Tiger in the Kolhan region of Jharkhand. He has influence on 14 seats here. There is no other leader of his stature in the party. This can be gauged from the fact that when CM Hemant Soren went to jail in the land scam and money laundering case, the Soren family chose him as their successor.
When Hemant Soren went to jail, the Soren family chose Champai Soren as his successor.
Why do you want to leave the party?: Hemant came out of jail. After this Champai Soren was removed from the post of CM. Whereas Champai wanted to remain CM till this term. Hemant started trying to prove that Champai could not run the government in a better way. Due to this Champai Soren started getting disillusioned with the party.
Another big reason for leaving the party is said to be setting up his son. He wants an assembly seat for his son Babulal. If sources are to be believed, BJP can offer Ghatsila and Potka seats to his son. It does not seem possible for him to do this while staying in JMM.
Lobin Hembram: Angry at not being made a minister, against Hemant
Lobin Hembram is counted as a loyal soldier of Shibu Soren. Lobin, who became MLA for the first time in 1990, has been elected MLA from Borio 5 times so far. He was given a place in the cabinet in Hemant Soren’s first term, but now Lobin is not in Hemant’s cabinet.

Since the formation of Hemant Soren government in 2019, Lobin Hembram has been adopting a rebellious stance.
Why do you want to leave the party?: Ever since Hemant Soren’s government was formed in 2019, Lobin Hembram has been adopting a rebellious stance. Earlier, he was angry at not being made a minister. Apart from this, he was also not given a place in any commission. Angered by this, Lobin started cornering the Hemant government on the issues of local policy and Sarna.
In the Lok Sabha elections, Lobin Hembram had filed nomination as an independent candidate from Rajmahal Lok Sabha seat. After the elections, he was shown the way out of the party. His membership from the Legislative Assembly was also terminated. Now he has no other option except joining BJP.
Samir Mohanty: Fear of ticket being cut from JMM, never stayed in one party
Samir Mohanty has never stuck to one party. He is known for changing his party in almost every election. He started his career with JMM. In 2014, when former CM Babulal Marandi formed Jharkhand Vikas Morcha, he joined it. After this, he contested elections on a BJP ticket. In the last election, he returned to JMM after 10 years.

Sameer Mohanty is known for changing his party in almost every election.
Why do you want to leave the party now? Kunal Shadangi may be given ticket from Baharagora in East Singhbhum. During the last assembly elections, Shadangi resigned from JMM and joined BJP. If sources are to be believed, his joining JMM is just a formality. In such a situation, Samir Mohanty wants to secure his ticket by joining BJP.
Now know in 3 points, what will BJP achieve
1. BJP wants to set the narrative of stampede in JMM
Senior Jharkhand journalist Anand Kumar said that ‘BJP would like to give the message that there is no respect for senior tribal leaders in JMM. Hemant Soren wants to limit all the power to his family. Along with this, BJP wants to show that due to lack of respect, all the leaders who were loyal to Shibu Soren are now with us.

2. An attempt to make the withered lotus bloom in Kolhan
There are 14 assembly seats in Kolhan. In the last election, BJP was completely wiped out from here. The then Chief Minister Raghuvar Das, who came from this area, was also defeated by Saryu Rai in the election. Now BJP will try to win as many seats as possible from here in the upcoming assembly elections. In such a situation, Champai Soren can prove to be a lifesaver for them in this area.
3. BJP targets 28 seats reserved for tribals. Senior journalist Amarendra Kumar says that ‘BJP has given the command of the party in the hands of its biggest tribal leader Babulal Marandi. Despite this, a powerful face like Arjun Munda had to face defeat in the Lok Sabha elections. Now the party wants to recover from this at any cost.’

Will this move benefit BJP?
On this question, senior journalist Anand Kumar says that ‘There is a doubt whether the leaders will take JMM’s vote with them. BJP has tried this experiment in the Lok Sabha elections, but the party has failed completely in it.’ During the Lok Sabha elections, Congress was successful in getting Geeta Koda, a big leader in Chaibasa, and Sita Soren, Hemant Soren’s sister-in-law from Dumka, to its side. Both of them also got Lok Sabha tickets, but both lost. In such a situation, there will be a doubt that JMM’s vote may also shift with Lobin Hembram, Champai Soren and Sameer Mohanty after joining BJP.
Loss to JMM-Loyal’s trust in the family broken
If BJP succeeds in breaking these leaders, then questions will be raised on the leadership within JMM. During the Lok Sabha elections, the family lost its attachment to the party. After this, if loyal and old leaders of the party leave, then an atmosphere of distrust and instability will be created in JMM. Leaders like Champai and Lobin have dedicated their entire life to the party. BJP will take advantage of this in the elections. In this situation, Hemant Soren will never want Champai to leave the party.

Himanta Biswa Sarma is leading the entire campaign
Political experts say That BJP has given the responsibility of returning to power in Jharkhand to Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma. He is leading this entire campaign himself. He is visiting Jharkhand every week. He is roaming in different areas. Which issue will the party raise, what will be the party’s policy from the House to the road, he is deciding everything himself.
This is the reason why the party is leaving its old agenda and is strongly raising the issue of conversion of tribals into Muslims. Himanta is considered an expert player in political manipulation and Hindutva politics. He has proved this in the North East states. This is the reason why BJP has sidelined the local leadership in Jharkhand and entrusted the responsibility on his shoulders.
Former state president of BJP said- a good person was removed from the post of Chief Minister
On the speculation of Champai joining BJP, former state president of the party Deepak Prakash said, ‘I have heard this only in the news. I do not have any authentic information. He was serving Jharkhand as a good Chief Minister. Everything depends on the central leadership. He is a very big personality. 3.5 crore people of Jharkhand were happy with his work, but the way he was removed from the CM post was unfortunate. It was a shock that a good person was removed from the Chief Minister’s chair. What was his fault?’
Assam CM said- No one is in contact with us, do not want to make casual comments on Champai
Here, the Chief Minister of Assam has made it clear that he is not in touch with any JMM leader. However, he was seen avoiding saying anything on former CM Champai Soren. On Saturday, when journalists in Ranchi asked Hemant Biswa whether Champai and other JMM leaders are joining the BJP?? To this, he said that no one is in touch with us right now. I have come to know about this through the media only. He further said that Champai Soren is a senior politician. I do not want to make any casual comments about him right now.
