Bollywood actor Govinda has been injured by a bullet in his leg. He was shot by his own pistol. The incident occurred around 4.45 am on Tuesday morning.

According to sources close to Dainik Bhaskar, 60 year old actor Govinda was shot due to miss firing while cleaning his revolver. Mumbai Police reached the spot and seized his revolver and started investigating the matter. Senior police officer Paramjit Singh Dahiya has said that the gun from which the bullet was fired is a licensed one. DCP will soon give an official statement in this matter.

Admitted to Criti Care Hospital, Mumbai

Due to the bullet injury, his leg bled profusely, due to which his condition became critical. At present he has been admitted to Kriti Care Hospital, Andheri for treatment. According to sources related to the hospital, after initial treatment, Govinda is now out of danger. His wife Sunita is currently present with him in the hospital.

Were about to leave for Kolkata to attend a program

Govinda’s manager Shashi Sinha has told that he was going to Kolkata for a program. The flight was at 6 o’clock. While keeping the pistol in the cupboard, there was a misfiring and he was shot below his knee. He was immediately taken to Andheri hospital. The bullet has been taken out. His condition is out of danger. There is no need to panic.

Govinda, who was a part of films like Coolie No. 1, Hero No. 1, Raja Babu, Chhote Sarkar, Had Kar Di Aapne, has been away from films for the last 5 years. His last release film is 2019’s Rangeela Raja.

Joined Shiv Sena in March

Govinda had joined Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) on March 28. During this time Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde was also present. After joining the party, Govinda had said- I was in politics from 2004 to 2009. It is a coincidence that after 14 years I have come into politics again. Whatever trust has been placed in me, I will fulfill it completely.

Govinda had contested the Lok Sabha elections from Mumbai North in 2004 on a Congress ticket. He defeated BJP’s Ram Naik by 48,271 votes. The actor was an MP from 2004 to 2009.
