24 students died in a fire in Congo’s eastern city of Bukavu on Thursday. According to the local administration, among those killed are 19 girls and 5 boys. 29 are undergoing treatment. According to reports, the fire first broke out in a house. After this it spread to Furaha Secondary School and Ujamaa Primary School. Many students were trapped inside Furaha Secondary School. Some of them suffocated. There is a fear that the death toll may increase further in the densely populated Kadutu area. 2 pictures after the accident… Children trapped in the school, the way out was narrow. According to Lubala, the way out of the school was very narrow. Some students started jumping from the windows. Some students ran towards the door. While everyone was trying to get out together, many students fell and people passed over them. The cause of the fire is not known yet. According to Lubala, the area from where the fire started is densely populated.
