The love story of two young men with a girl from Jammu and Kashmir is in limbo. Rajasthan is also directly connected to this matter. Two youths from Rajasthan and Jammu and Kashmir have claimed to marry the girl.
One has filed petitions in Rajasthan and the other in Jammu and Kashmir High Court claiming to marry the girl.
Rajasthan Police has been searching for Shakeela Akhtar of Anantnag in Jammu and Kashmir for some time.
Jitendra Singh, resident of Sudrasan village of Bardwa police station area of Didwana-Kuchaman (Rajasthan) district, has filed a Habeas Corpus petition in the Rajasthan High Court, Jodhpur Main Bench.
Jitendra Singh claimed that he married Shakeela on 16 February 2025 in Firozpur, Punjab. He also presented marriage related documents and live-in certificate in the petition. He has demanded handing over Shakeela.
Hearing on Jitendra Singh’s petition is proposed today (Tuesday) in Rajasthan High Court, Jodhpur. This case is listed in the court of Justice Farzand Ali. For this, SHO Mahendra Singh of Bardwa police station of Didwana will also be present in the court with the documents of the investigation.
On the other hand, the case related to Shakeela and Shabbir Ahmed Khan will be heard in Jammu and Kashmir High Court on March 13.
Police did not find Shakeela On the instructions of Jodhpur High Court, Bardwa police station with the help of CRPF searched for Shakeela in Jammu and Kashmir, but no trace of her was found. Police conducted search operations at many places including Anantnag. Neither Shakeela Mili nor Shabbir Ahmed Khan could be found.
Love story took a strange turn Shabbir Ahmed Khan filed a petition in Srinagar High Court, the capital of Jammu and Kashmir. Calling Shakeela his wife, he has demanded the safety of both of them.
He presented the marriage certificate in the court, in which he claimed that both of them got married on June 12, 2024. Said in the petition that his family members are trying to break this marriage. They should be given security. Srinagar High Court has also given necessary instructions to the police officers.
Increased closeness to Shakeela in Jammu According to Jitendra, he had gone to Jammu to work on contract in a company. There he grew closer to Shakeela. With the consent of the family, both of them got married in Firozpur (Punjab) and started living together. Later, Shakeela’s family lodged a missing complaint.
After this, Jammu Police caught both of them and took Shakeela to Jammu. There Shakeela did not give any statement against him. Still he was not sent along. After this Jitendra approached the Rajasthan High Court.

Date of first hearing and notice Rajasthan High Court heard it for the first time on 30 October 2025. On the same day, the court had issued a notice to the defendants and directed them to produce the girl in the next appearance. The case has been heard on 7 different dates between 30 October 2025 and 23 February 2026.
The latest order is dated 23 February 2026, in which the government lawyer asked for some more time from the court to find the girl. After this, the court of Justice Arun Monga and Justice Yogendra Kumar Purohit fixed the next hearing of the case on March 10, 2026.
Order for help to CRPF On January 29, 2026, the division bench of Justice Vineet Kumar Mathur and Justice Chandra Shekhar Sharma had directed the investigating officer to find the girl with the help of CRPF and other paramilitary forces deployed in the area.
