Salman Khan has started a multi-level relief campaign in the flood affected areas through his charitable organization ‘Being Human’.

At the same time, Alia Bhatt has issued an appeal on social media requesting the countrymen to help the flood victims of Assam. Lakhs of people have been affected due to heavy monsoon rains in Assam.

Salman started relief work with fan club According to a Mid Day report, Salman Khan’s organization ‘Being Human’ has joined hands with his local fan club to work at the grassroots level in Assam. In the first phase of the campaign, ready food packets and other essential items are being distributed in the flood affected areas.

The relief material includes drinking water, medicines, sanitary pads and mosquito repellent cream. In the coming weeks, this campaign will provide dry ration, temporary shelter material and help in rebuilding schools and hospitals damaged in the floods.

Actor Ayushmann Khurrana and his wife Tahira Kashyap have extended a helping hand to the people affected by the ongoing severe floods in Assam. The couple has made a financial contribution to the Assam Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, which will be used for relief and rehabilitation work for flood-affected families.

Ayushmann and Tahira, who are constantly active in social work, have earlier also come forward to help in times of crisis. During the Covid-19 pandemic, she contributed to the Maharashtra Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, and also supported ‘Gulmehar’, a Delhi-based organization empowering women ragpickers. Apart from this, Ayushmann is also the National Ambassador of UNICEF India and has been continuously raising his voice for the rights, education and welfare of children.

Situation worsens in Assam, more than 75 people died The flood situation in Assam remains extremely serious due to torrential rains since mid-July and rising water level in the upper areas. According to the latest data from Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA), more than 75 people have lost their lives so far due to the floods. Many districts of the state including Sivasagar, Charaideo, Jorhat, Golaghat and Naugaon are in the grip of floods. More than 3 lakh people are affected by the flood and thousands of hectares of crops have been submerged.
