Popular actor Asrani died on 20th October, the day of Diwali. His manager Babubhai Thiba had told in an interview given to Dainik Bhaskar that his last wish was that the news of his death should not be informed to anyone. This was the reason that immediately after his death in the afternoon, his last rites were performed without informing anyone, in which only 15-20 people from the family were present. Now senior actor Annu Kapoor has also expressed his desire to perform the last rites without informing anyone.

Annu Kapoor has said in a conversation with ANI, ‘When the time comes for me to check out from the hotel called Iss Duniya, if that date and that time is related to any national festival, 15th August, 26th January or is related to any festival, is related to Diwali, is related to Holi, is related to Eid, is related to Makar Sakranti, is related to 12 Wafat, is related to Christmas, is related to Buddha Purnima, Guru If Purnima is associated with Nanak Jayanti, then this rites (last rites) of mine should also be performed secretly.

He further said, ‘I don’t want to trouble anyone and I don’t want to live as a burden on this world. Neither do I want that burden for myself. Neither do I want for my people. Neither do I want it for the society. Neither do I want it for the country. Don’t live as a burden. There is a couplet by Ghalib that what is the solution to the sorrow of a person? Who should get proper treatment for the sad personality? Shamma burns in every situation till Sahar. So you have to burn until it’s time to check out. But water should not cause trouble to anyone. After getting burnt, no one wants to cause trouble to his family, nor to his wife, nor to his children, nor to the country, nor to the society, nor to his friends, nor to the people of this society, nor to his fans. I don’t want to live as a burden on anyone.

At last he said, when my time comes to check out, the world is an inn, a traveler’s house, this is a hotel. So if you have checked in, it is very important to check out also. Or don’t think that you will survive. This is not your permanent residence. Big people tried to make it their permanent residence. But till date no one has been able to make it. Therefore, pray that you should not go by giving trouble to others and do not go by giving trouble to yourself.

‘When it is the time of my death and that date falls on these festivals, then I too should be given what is called ‘Suprad Aatish’ very secretly or whatever my family members want to do with my mortal body, it should be done. No one will be told.

Asrani was also cremated secretly

His manager Babu Bhai Thiba, who has been working with Asrani for the last 20 years, told Dainik Bhaskar that Asrani himself wanted that the news of his death should not be informed to anyone. He had expressed this desire to his wife Manju Bansal. He had told his wife that there should be no commotion after my death and to inform everyone only when the last rites are performed. This was the reason why his last rites were performed only in the presence of his family. Only 15-20 people were involved in it. The news was not given in the industry, due to which no member associated with the industry attended the funeral.
