A 35-year-old woman was allegedly brutally murdered inside a house in Dashmesh Nagar Colony in the Bishanpura area of Zirakpur, police said. The woman’s blood-soaked body was found inside the house, with police suspecting that she was attacked multiple times with a sharp-edged weapon and a knife.

Police teams rushed to the spot after receiving information about the incident and began investigating the circumstances surrounding the murder. A forensic team was also called to the scene and collected evidence from inside the house and the surrounding area.

Preliminary investigation brought suspicion on the woman’s first husband. According to police, the two had been involved in a long-standing dispute and investigators are examining the past discord as a possible motive for the killing.
