1. Will be able to change the date of journey in confirmed rail ticket: No extra charge will be levied, Claim- New system will be implemented from January 2026

Now you will be able to change the journey date in your confirmed train ticket and for this you will not have to pay any cancellation fee or extra charge.
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav gave this information to NDTV on October 7. He told that from January 2026, passengers will be able to change the confirmed ticket to a later date.
However, if the date is changed in this process, the confirmed ticket will not be guaranteed. Seats will be available only on availability basis.

2. Now make UPI payment through face and fingerprint also: Government approved new features, currently PIN was required for payment

UPI users will now be able to make payments through face and fingerprint. The new biometric features of UPI operating agency NPCI have been approved by the Central Government today i.e. on 7th October.
RBI Deputy Governor T Rabi Shankar has launched new features at the ongoing Global Fin Tech event in Mumbai, UPI apps will soon add it. After this, the requirement of PIN to make UPI payment will become optional. NPCI says that this new method will make UPI payment more easy, secure and user-friendly.

3. EPFO’s minimum pension will increase to ₹ 2500: ₹ 1000 per month has been available for 11 years, decision possible in the meeting on 10-11 October.

The minimum pension of Rs 1000 per month received under the Employee Pension Scheme may increase to Rs 2500. A decision on this can be taken in the meeting of the Central Board of Trustees (CBT) of EPFO. This meeting is to be held in Bengaluru on 10-11 October.
If the proposal to increase the pension is passed in the meeting, it will be the first increase in 11 years. The minimum pension of ₹1000 per month was fixed in 2014 and has not increased since then. According to a report, more than 30 lakh pensioners are getting minimum pension.

Gold and silver prices reached all-time high on Tuesday (7 October). According to India Bullion and Jewelers Association (IBJA), 10 grams of 24 carat gold increased by Rs 692 to Rs 1,19,941. Earlier it was at Rs 1,19,249.
At the same time, silver became costlier by Rs 608 and reached Rs 1,49,441. Yesterday i.e. on Monday it was at Rs 1,48,833.
